The improvements to the Mount Joy Train Station, consisted of the following: two, five hundred-foot-long, high-level boarding platforms; two elevator station towers to allow access between the street level and the platform level; reconfigured street level parking; reconfigured storm water management systems with underground detention basins; ADA accessibility between the street level and the platforms; improved lighting throughout the project area, and modifications to the existing South Market Street Bridge, affording increased pathway across the bridge, pedestrian and vehicular separation barriers, and a cantilevered canopy over the bridge for pedestrians.

The ultimate objective for PennDOT and AMTRAK was to provide an accessible station that is safe for all riders.  Mount Joy Borough envisions the Mount Joy Station to be a major gateway to the community, assisting in making Mount Joy Borough a key destination while continuing to build our prosperous economy.

Upon completion of the Mount Joy Train Station, Mount Joy Borough will continue to capitalize on the Borough’s Main Street vibrant and diverse mix of retail, service and dining establishments.
